Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a modern medical-aesthetic technique that involves the precise delivery of active ingredients into the middle layer of the skin (mesoderm) through microinjections. Developed in the 1950s in France as a treatment for pain and vascular disorders, this method has since become an integral part of aesthetic medicine due to its effectiveness in revitalizing and rejuvenating the skin.

The success of mesotherapy lies in its ability to deliver nutrients and active ingredients directly to the skin, targeting specific dermatological and aesthetic concerns. Mesotherapy goes beyond improving the skin's appearance; it fosters natural regeneration and provides long-lasting results, backed by a scientific understanding of skin biology.

Mesotherapy uses microinjections to deliver active ingredients directly into the dermis, precisely where they are most needed. Depending on the indication, ingredient combinations may include:

  • Hyaluronic acid for deep hydration and skin firming;
  • Vitamin complexes (A, C, E, and B groups) to stimulate cell regeneration and improve skin texture;
  • Minerals and amino acids to strengthen the skin's structure;
  • Peptides and antioxidants to neutralize free radicals and slow aging;
  • And hair growth stimulants, such as biotin and dexpanthenol.

The intake of these components stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin, enhances microcirculation, and facilitates the exchange of substances within skin cells. The end result is revitalized, firmer, and healthier skin with a noticeably improved texture.

Mesotherapy is a versatile technique used in dermatological practice for a wide range of indications, including:

  • Rejuvenation of the skin on the face, neck, décolleté, and hands: the treatment stimulates cell renewal and restores the skin’s youthful appearance.
  • Reduction of wrinkles and fine lines: Hyaluronic acid and peptides help diminish visible signs of aging.
  • Hyperpigmentation: The treatment evens out the complexion and reduces post-inflammatory and melasma pigmentation.
  • Problematic and oily skin: Mesotherapy cocktails soothe inflammation and regulate sebum production.
  • Alopecia and hair loss: stimulating the scalp with essential nutrients promotes hair follicle growth and strengthening.

The mesotherapy process typically takes between 30 and 60 minutes, starting with a thorough skin examination to determine the most suitable cocktail of active ingredients. The procedure is minimally invasive and is performed using very thin needles (or nanosoft needles), with a local anesthetic applied beforehand to ensure maximum patient comfort.

After the treatment, mild redness, papules, swelling, or small bruises may occur, typically subsiding within 24 to 48 hours. Patients can resume their daily activities as early as the next day, following expert recommendations.

The best results from mesotherapy are obtained through a series of treatments, usually conducted 10 to 14 days apart. To maintain the achieved results, it is recommended to undergo treatment every four to six months, depending on the skin condition and lifestyle habits.

The duration of the results may vary based on age, skin type, and the specific indication. Regular treatments promote ongoing improvement in skin quality and extend the effects of mesotherapy.

In addition to classic mesotherapy needles, Nanosoft needles can also be used. Nanosoft needles, used for the application of mesotherapy cocktails, offer a unique solution for treating the face, neck, and décolleté. Nanosoft needles are standardized, making the process more comfortable, precise, and yielding consistently good results. They consist of three micro "needles," each 0.6 mm long, made from silicone crystal. Nanosoft needles are designed for use on delicate areas, including the neck, around the lips, and around the eyes.

The treatment is minimally invasive, simple, and almost painless. The risk of bruising is reduced to a minimum. The injection reaches an optimal depth of 0.6 mm. During the application, small papules form, allowing the product to spread evenly throughout the dermis. Within 24 hours, the papules retract, leaving no visible puncture marks on the skin.

Mesotherapy is not recommended for pregnant women, nursing mothers, and individuals with active infections in the treated area, individuals with allergies to the ingredients used, or individuals with severe skin conditions.

After the treatment, it is important to avoid sun exposure, use sunscreen (SPF 50+), and maintain proper skin hydration.

At Sokol Polyclinic, we use a variety of skin boosters for mesotherapy, including Fillmed NCTF 135HA, Plinest, Newest, and Skymedic Meso Ox, which is effective when combined with photobiomodulation therapy.

Mesotherapy is a scientifically proven method that offers a personalized approach to aesthetic and dermatological needs. Its ability to stimulate natural skin renewal processes makes it one of the most effective and safest treatments in modern dermatological practice.
